From Divine Download to Song: Letting Love Lead

Dear Reader,

There are songs we write.

And then there are songs that seem to arrive.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been spending a surprising amount of time making music. Some of these songs first came through months—or even years—ago in meditation, ritual, mantra practice, or those mysterious moments when a melody simply starts singing itself through me.

I’ve sung them at my harmonium. I’ve scribbled chords onto pieces of paper. I’ve carried melodies around in my head while driving, walking, cooking and living my life.

And lately, I’ve been experimenting with something new: using AI as a creative partner to help me hear what these songs might become.

Not to replace the human part.

Actually, quite the opposite.

The prayer is still mine.
The melody is still mine.
The practice is still mine.
The relationship with these goddesses is deeply, intimately mine.

But suddenly I can say, What if this had a little Western folk underneath it? What if the harmonium met a warm electric guitar? What if the mantra opened into a room full of voices?

And within minutes, I can hear possibilities that once would have required a studio, musicians, money and weeks of experimentation.

Sometimes AI gets it spectacularly wrong. 😂 Apparently Kali occasionally wants to become Whitney Houston or join a K-pop group.

But sometimes it catches something.

A groove. A harmony. A texture.

And suddenly the little song I’ve been carrying around inside of me becomes bigger.

I find that incredibly exciting.

Because I don't believe technology has to pull us farther away from our humanity or our divinity. I think we can choose to use it to bring more beauty, prayer, healing, creativity and love into the world.

That is what I want to do with it.

And perhaps it’s no accident that these particular songs are arriving now.

Last month, Durga walked with us.

Her wisdom invited us to embody our power—to trust what we know, to meet fear without allowing it to choose for us, and to remember the fierce love that protects what matters.

Out of that practice came Durga Ma | I’ve Got You.

It became a song about being held by a love strong enough to remind us who we are.

And now, as September begins, another goddess is stepping forward.

Radha.

Radha brings a different kind of strength.

Not the strength of pushing harder.
Not the strength of proving ourselves.

The gentle strength of a heart so saturated in love, devotion, compassion and bliss that love begins to lead.

And I think that is exactly where we go after Durga.

Because once we reclaim our power, there is another question waiting:

What will lead that power?

For me, the answer is love.

Not sentimental love. Not passive love.

Love with discernment.
Love with boundaries.
Love that tells the truth.
Love that stays present.
Love that knows when to soften and when to stand.

Durga helped us remember our power.
Radha teaches us how to let love move through it.

That is the journey we’re stepping into this month inside Shakti Rising Circle.

And it is also finding its way into my music.

I recently added Durga Ma | I’ve Got You and Radha Rising to the SOULutions app, along with my Mantras for Mamas album and a growing collection of mantra, meditation, yoga and sacred feminine practices.

Maybe don't just listen.

Sing.

Let the mantra move through your body. Let yourself feel what changes when these teachings become vibration rather than ideas.

Because that is really why I make any of this.

Not so we can collect more spiritual information.

So we can practice it until it becomes the way we live.

This month, my practice is simple:

Let love lead.

May it shape what I say.
May it shape what I choose.
May it shape what I create.
May it shape how I use my power.

And yes—may it even shape how I use AI. 😉

With love,
Mindy
Guided by Shakti. Rooted in You.

P.S. Shakti Rising Circle is a weekly gathering for women who are ready to live their power with more intention—and let love shape how that power moves through the world. It’s a space for real practice, honest conversation, meaningful connection, and the kind of support that helps the wisdom move from something we understand into something we actually embody. We gather Tuesday night's via Zoom at 7:30 pm MT.
